About Us

OUR FOUNDATION

The Daughters of Divine Mercy Missionaries (DDMM) were officially established through the gracious support of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, New York, under the pastoral care of Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan. Our foundation reflects a journey of discernment, prayer, and communion, rooted in the Church and inspired by the life and message of Divine Mercy revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska.

The journey toward our official foundation unfolded between 2023 and 2025, guided by the vision and dedication of four women religious: Sisters Faustina Quayson, Imelda Effiong, Monica Okon, and Patricia Idoko. Each brought a rich spiritual heritage and years of experience from their respective congregations – the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus and the Dominican Order. United by a common call, they discerned a new expression of consecrated life, one wholly centered on living and proclaiming the message of Divine Mercy.

We recognize this foundation not simply as the work of human hands, but as a response to God’s merciful initiative – a work crowned with His grace. We exist to be instruments of that mercy, serving the Church and the world with joy, humility, and compassion.

Mission and Vision

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me. – Matthew 25:40

The Daughters of Divine Mercy Missionaries (DDMM) are called to be living instruments of God’s mercy in a world longing for healing, compassion, and hope. Our mission is to minister to the People of God with mercy, compassion, and loving service, embracing all, especially the poor, the suffering, and the forgotten, with the merciful heart of Christ.

Inspired by the life and message of Saint Faustina Kowalska, we strive to be visible signs of Divine Mercy in the world today. At the heart of our ministry is the daily practice of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, which embody the Gospel in action. Rooted in prayer and sustained by community life, we share the merciful love of Jesus with those in need through both prayerful presence and practical service.

Our Spirituality

Our spirituality is deeply rooted in the message of Divine Mercy as revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska, the Apostle of Mercy. At the heart of our way of life is a profound trust in God’s infinite love, a love that meets the world not with condemnation, but with compassion, healing, and hope. We embrace a simple and prayerful lifestyle shaped by the conviction that:

With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption. – (Psalm 130:7)

This trust in God’s mercy shapes everything we do. We seek to be living reflections of Christ’s merciful heart, offering ourselves in service to those who are suffering, forgotten, or burdened by sin and despair. Through daily prayer, interior silence, and acts of charity, we allow the grace of Divine Mercy to transform us and flow through us to others. As Saint Faustina wrote in her diary:

I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. – (Diary, 1520)

We live out this call through the three pillars of the Divine Mercy message – so that in all we do, we may proclaim: Jesus, I trust in You!
